Crocheting for the Hospital – Request for Wool
As part of this half terms project some of our students have been learning to crochet. Despite coming up against some challenges they have shown resilience and persevered. As it turns out they have gone on to absolutely love learning these new skills.
As part of our upcoming half term, they are looking at supporting charities within their community. Collectively the students have decided they would like to combine their new found love of crochet and the idea of giving for the upcoming festive season. They have decided they would like to make and donate some things for the families and babies of our local neonatal and postnatal wards for Christmas. To spread some festive joy for those that may need it this Christmas. This would involve them making hats, blankets and bonding squares for the babies and parents before delivering them to the hospital.
Darlington Memorial Hospital have agreed to work with us, they will distribute the students work throughout all 12 of their hospitals!
We are really proud of them all for wanting to give to the local community and in a way that brings some joy this for the festive season.
We are hoping that parts of our local community may be open to supporting us with this. So, we are kindly asking for donations of yarn either DK or Aran in reds, white, browns, greens, yellows, pinks and blues.
We thank you for taking the time to read this and any support would be great.
