Army Trip 2017

At the end of November 2017 a group of Year 10 and Year 11 students from Rise Carr College spent a week living and working with the British Army based in North Yorkshire.  This was a really rewarding experience for all of the young people involved as they were able to experience a wide variety of military training activities.  They wore full Army uniform at all times, lived in the barracks and were commanded by a group of trained Army Personnel.  During the week the students took part in drill exercises, learnt about survival skills and military tactics, spent time on the ranges and carried out team building and problem solving activities.  They also completed the timed Army mile-and-a-half run which most did in very respectable times.
