Vaccinations

Christine Fallows is the Immunisation Nurse and the link nurse for Rise Carr College’ vaccination programs which are delivered by Intrahealth school age immunisation team. She will be attending Rise Carr College on the 1 May to vaccinate the year 8 pupils for HPV (Human Papillomavirus). This vaccine is offered to children routinely in year 8. Previously this vaccination was a 2-dose schedule however now due to the effectiveness of the vaccine it has been changed and now only one dose is required.

For most of the students this is the first time they will have received an IM (intramuscular) injection without their parents’ presence, and some children may not remember having an IM injection at all.

Below is a presentation that will prompt conversations with parents and students around the vaccine, it also contains some information about the MMR vaccine due to the current outbreak.
